As an employee of Marietta’s Police Department, you will be eligible to be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses up to $2,000 a year when in pursuit of a degree from an accredited institution.
Additional critera must be met:
- Reimbursement is for out-of-pocket expenses (tuition, lab fees, books)
- Fees covered by HOPE are not eligible for reimbursement
- The student must receive a letter grade ‘C’ or higher
- Employees must attain prior approval for a reimbursement before the beginning of a new semester
- Eligibility is available after six months of employment

Please note: This is a reimbursement, not upfront payment. The student is responsible for making all payments to the educational institute he or she is attending. Only when the semester is over and all the other criteria has been met will the student be reimbursed for his or her expenses.
